Products that combat hyperpigmentation whilst providing sun protection are incredibly rare. Why do I need to purchase my SPF separately?! If a product is formulated to brighten, surely it should include SPF? I am no chemist or dermatologist but I think the reason is science-based. Purchased from Amazon, £10.79 for 50g, Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 is absolutely amazing! According to the brand’s marketing jargon, Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 is “designed to deliver results while respecting sensitive skin”. It is a “moisturising cream that gently helps brighten the complexion and even skin tone without disrupting or weakening the natural skin barrier”. Cetaphil credits “GentleBright Technology”, which is “powered by Niacinamide and natural Sea Daffodil”. Results are guaranteed in just 4 weeks of use.
Surprisingly, there is some truth in the marketing jargon as with every use, Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 left my skin deeply moisturised, super soft and so much more even. The texture of my skin has also improved; it feels a lot smoother. Despite its richness, my oily skin loved it. My complexion has never looked better! Products that promise brightening solutions are usually harsh; Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 is gentle and also fragrance-free. However, there are some cons. The brightening is minimal but noticeable. I don’t mind as I wasn’t looking to brighten my skin tone. The consistency of Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 changes. When new, it is thick and creamy. After a few months of use, it separates. The product is still usable but I did have to mix it repeatedly. Lastly, Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 leaves my eyes stinging at the end of the day. I have this problem with every product that has SPF so maybe the issue lies within me. Regardless of the cons, I remain impressed and pleased with my purchase. Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Brightening Day Protection Cream SPF 15 is a brilliant investment. I can only recommend it.
