01 Aug Embracing Change — What to Expect Moving Forward

This is the kind of post you usually expect to encounter at the start of the year: new year, new me, blah, blah, blah! However, my birthday is next month, and I feel like today is the perfect day to share a few updates regarding my beloved child, SybilCreates. My interests are changing with age. I was about 11 years old when I launched my first blog. It was primarily a beauty and fashion blog, but I did share bits of my life too. I remember photographing every step of my leopard print eyeshadow. Crazily, I actually enjoyed the process as blogging was something new and exciting.

I have always loved writing about beauty, but recently I have started to feel a bit overwhelmed and honestly, a little bored. Yes, that sounds confusing, but I’m not quite sure how else to put it. I am always buying, testing and trying new beauty products, yet the urge to share my latest finds on this little blog of mine has almost disappeared. I know many of you come here for the beauty reviews, but creating them has become a bit of a chore, and without PR, incentives or compensation, I am doing this purely for the love of it!

That said, there comes a time when you have to move on and try something new. I still want to share beauty posts, but I’d like to experiment with a different format. Perhaps videos? I don’t know. I’m not entirely sure yet. The main reason I’m sharing this is that beauty reviews have been absent from this blog for a while, and I don’t plan to post any this year (not until I decide on a new format). Lastly, let’s talk about the YouTube channel. Yes, it might seem dead, but I’m working on a revival — watch this space! I’ve missed creating, but I need to prioritise my job, as it pays the bills, unlike YouTube. So, here’s to embracing change and continuing to grow together. I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
