The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser Review

The brand is new to me. The name fails to ring any bells, so, why do I feel as if I have used this product before? Well, that is because The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser is pretty much Bio-essence Bio-Energy Snail Skin Repair Foamy Cleanser. Two completely different brands, with no known affiliations, appear to be selling the same formula. Hmmm. Bio-essence is owned by a Indian company called Wipro, whilst, The Face Shop is owned by the South Korean multinational conglomerate corporation, LG Group (Corporations). So, this review should be short and sweet, echoing the review of Bio-essence Bio-Energy Snail Skin Repair Foamy Cleanser? Yes and no. I had been looking to try more Asian skincare brands when I stumbled across this cleanser. I purchased The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser from Amazon (£9.04 for 150ml).

The scent of The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser is generically soapy. An odd description but it really does smell like your average cheap bar of soap. According to The Face Shop, this cleanser gently moisturises, leaving skin bright and clear. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser most definitely cleans and removes makeup but it fails to moisturise. In fact, it left my skin feeling incredibly stripped. Words can’t express how drying this cleanser is. Nonetheless, my skin did appear a little brighter. I don’t know if I am a fan or if I hate this product. It is quite overpriced for what it does but it isn’t terrible. If it were moisturising, it would be ok, I guess. Overall, it is not the worst cleanser in the world but you can live without it. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser is Bio-essence Bio-Energy Snail Skin Repair Foamy Cleanser (well, the same formula) and no one can convince me otherwise.
