Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser Review

Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser is a purifying wash with “moisturising properties to nourish and clarify the skin” without stripping. It is also “100% vegan and cruelty free”. An extensive examination of the bottle failed to reveal the “moisturising properties” but I feel it is safe to assume the highlighted ingredients play some sort of vital role in this claim:

  • Salicylic acid “purifies congested skin leaving it feeling fresh and revitalised”.
  • Allantoin “provides a barrier of moisture to the skin’s surface”.
  • Niacinamide supports “the control of the production of sebum”.

Hmm. Interesting. Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser is also infused with vitamin E. In the world of skincare, vitamin E is often marketed as an antioxidant. Marketing jargon aside, this is a brilliant cleanser. However, it does have one major flaw.

Purchased from Amazon (£5.44 for 300ml), I opted for the “XXL” version as it was on sale. This hefty size usually costs £14.95 and the 150ml bottle, £9.95. I paid £5.44 for 300ml. Wow. What a phenomenal steal! Regardless, both the RRP and sale price are affordable. Now, on to the scent! Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser smells quite pleasant. It is a generic relatively mild scent. I have no complaints.

Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser delivered beyond my expectations. Where does one even start? My skin is incredibly oily. I am also prone to ingrown hairs (in the eyebrow, jawline and neck region). Nip + Fab Purify Salicylic Fix Gel Cleanser left my skin squeaky clean but soft.  It tackled blemishes and tamed excess sebum. I also noticed a reduction in ingrown hairs, which I did not expect. Overall, I am very pleased. However, I have a few issues. Firstly, the consistency of this product is too fluid and it requires quite a bit in order to create some sort of lather. The biggest flaw lies in the packaging design. It leaks. The neck of the pump doesn’t appear to be sealed. I found this annoying as the bottle always felt sticky. Nip + Fab should look into ditching the pump as it is terrible. It also feels and looks cheap. Nevertheless, this is an amazing cleanser that I can only recommend.
