03 Dec Mr. Super Clear Hates Me
It’s official. Mr. Super Clear hates SybilCreates. I am not mad or upset as the hatred is mutual. Mr. Super Clear’s clear UV cut flat/matt sealant spray (also known as MSC in the doll community) is the go-to sealant for OOAK doll customs. Its reputation is pretty stellar but for some unknown (to me) reason, MSC fails to work consistently. I started using everyone’s favourite sealant in the summer of 2019. Whilst it dried perfectly (to touch), its finish was always all over the place. One layer would be shiny and the next, flat/matt.
Fast forward to winter 2019 and the same issue remains. MSC is too unpredictable. I have been really trying to hone in on my doll repainting, which has been one nightmare after another as MSC is messing up everything! One layer will dry flat/matt, the following will dry super shiny and the next, white. Yes, it is now leaving a white cast and I have no idea why! I always spray lightly. I also leave it to dry for more than an hour. I am completely over MSC as well as repainting dolls! Watch the video below to get a better understanding. Oh, and to see a very terrible repaint. I would also like to apologise to the doll (Barbie Fashionistas Doll 106 – Rainbow Floral – Original) featured for the distressed caused by Mr. Super Clear. Enjoy!
